The early part of my career was spent in the City of Chicago as an art student studying graphic design. I spent
endless hours drawing the birds and animals on display in The Field Museum of Natural History. Those visits, coupled
with my studies in scientific illustration, fine-tuned my drawing skills.

In my spare time I visited the shoreline of Lake Michigan observing and sketching the water and the wildlife in
Chicago. Eventually I followed this shoreline to the adjacent Indiana Dunes where I hiked its trails and walked
the beach sketching and photographing.
After this northern chapter in my life, I moved to southern Indiana where I discovered God's creative hand in the carved
woodlands of Brown County. His beautiful sunsets kindle my creativity. His majestic winged creatures like the
bald eagle and the blue heron soar above the trees and inflame my heart. |
